Expert debates if injury will scupper £55m move to Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have been closely monitoring Southampton attacking sensation Tyler Dibling as the Lilywhites look to fortify interests in landing his services given how he has been putting in some splendid performances in the Premier League of late. And many supporters have been concerned about the North Londoners interest given his recent ankle injury.

Any injury has to be deeply studied, especially when it amounts to a transfer worth millions, and this one raises questions for the Lilywhites as Daniel Levy weighs up the potential benefits against the risks of signing the 18-year-old.

Dr. Brar speaks up on Dibling injury

Southampton’s highly-rated talent Tyler Dibling is on the radar of Tottenham.

The 18-year-old is currently serving the sidelines for up to six weeks with an ankle injury, per Daily Echo. and while this has raised concerns, Dr. Rajpal Brar, an expert in physical therapy and sports science, insists that the current injury might not turn out to be a deal-breaker.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Brar also suggested that the North Londoners can potentially try to negotiate a reduced fee (from the current £55m asking price) because of the injury. He said:

“Whether the transfer is on or off depends on the club and how much risk they want to assume and how comfortable they are with the player’s ankle injury and rehabilitation.

“It’s something where they may be able to lower the fee as well. He would still be able to pass the medical because the medical staff understands he will be limited with certain things due to injury and so you adapt the testing.“

Given that Dibling is a promising talent and possesses quite significant potential, but at the moment Daniel Levy also has to aggregate the current need at hand and whether his short-term unavailability aligns with what is needed for Postecoglou with the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool coming close.
