“I do think they’ll decide to…” – Former scout makes Postecoglou sack claim after Leicester defeat

Roy Keane believes European results will dictate Postecoglou future at Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has been under a lot of pressure given how the Australian is enduring a difficult season at White Hart Lane, and the scrutiny surrounding his job has only risen following the Lilywhites 2-1 home defeat to Leicester City earlier today, and the loss against the Foxes marked the North Londoners 13th Premier League defeat of the season, which has continued to deepen frustrations at N17.

You could sense a feeling of annoyance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium today at full time as a section of supporters called for Postecoglou to be sacked with Spurs sitting 15th in the English top tier table, which is just above the relegation zone, and they could slip to 16th if Everton wins their game in hand.

King thinks Postecoglou will keep his job for now

Despite the calls for managerial change at N17, former Tottenham scout Bryan King has defended the Australian, insisting that the Lilywhites lack consistency because of injury issues and constant squad rotation while intending that the former Celtic manager will be kept in his job for now.

Speaking in an interview with Tottenham News, King said:

“They always say that a manager is only as good as his players. It feels as though Postecoglou is changing his team every game. The one thing that you need in your team is consistency. However, they’re never going to get that because Postecoglou never gets the chance to play the same team in consecutive matches.

“Postecoglou is obviously under pressure. I do think they’ll decide to stick by him for now. However, he doesn’t seem to motivate the players.”

That being said, the frustrations of the supporters are with Daniel Levy, with many blaming the North Londoners chairman for the lack of options in the roster at Hotspur Way and Tottenham have yet made no signings in the outfield during the ongoing January transfer window, with injuries to key players complemented by a failure to bring in new players that have left Postecou with limited options.
