Postecoglou confirms Tottenham star Richarlison has picked up a new injury
Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester City on matchday 23 of the Premier League keeps them rooted in the bottom half of the league standings with the team only having picked 24 points out of a possible 69 since the campaign got underway. The Foxes have scuppered four points off Spurs this season after the opening day clash between the two ended in a 1-1 draw earlier this season.

With another defeat came another fresh injury setback for Ange Postecoglou. Richarlison has suffered what is potentially his third injury of the ongoing campaign. The former Watford hitman had to be substituted less than 10 minutes into the second half with Mikey Moore coming in his place for the final 35 minutes and stoppage time.
Postecoglou was quizzed by the media regarding Richarlison’s substitution, to which he had the following to say (via Football London).
“He was feeling his groin. He should have come off at half-time but he wanted to give it another 10 minutes. I saw he wasn’t running right so I had to take him off.”
Not only could Richarlison’s injury prove detrimental for the Lilywhites by further cutting down their squad strength, but it could also spell the end of the player’s career in North London after failing to show any decent reliability in terms of fitness. The Brazilian’s injury also comes at a terrible time, considering his form and the already ongoing treatments in the squad.

Dominic Solanke has been ruled out of action for the near future and Richarlison was also proving himself in the absence of the ex-Bournemouth star. He had struck in two straight games since his return from injury but now faces a while more on the sidelines. The diagnosis will follow soon but Postecoglou will hope that this time around, it’s not a serious issue.
