Ange Postecoglou unsure about his future at Tottenham Hotspur
Ange Postecoglou’s role at Tottenham Hotspur has been precarious since several weeks and another defeat in the Premier League, this time at the hands of relegation-threatened Leicester City, has compounded his misery as the head coach. A number of experts anticipate the Australian to be the next manager in England’s top flight to be shown the door.

As has been the case following every unsatisfactory result this season, Postecoglou was again questioned about his thoughts on his future at Hotspur Way. Football London quoted him saying the following.
“Who knows mate? I’m sure there will be a fair chunk that say no. As a manager sometimes you can feel really isolated. I don’t because the players, not for me, but they’re still giving everything for this club and I’ve got great staff who are doing the same.”
The only reason Postecoglou has not been fired so far is because he seems to have full control of the dressing room, with the players also looking up to him. The Australian is also a well-respected individual among the fans although it is fair to say that his saving grace with the board might only be the team’s comfortable position in the Europa League and the domestic cup competitions.

It will be interesting to see how much longer he can continue to fight for his job but it is fair to say that the former Celtic boss would be another undeserving victim of the club’s hire and fire culture if he were to be sacked. Certainly, more developments will follow, especially if Liverpool defeat Spurs and thwart them from reaching the Carabao Cup final in their second leg meeting in February.
