Tottenham Hotspur are being backed to splash £100 million before the January window shuts
Tottenham Hotspur have spent the majority of the January transfer window on the peripheries of the market with Antonin Kinsky their only acquisition of the month. The Lilywhites’ recent activities, or rather the lack of them, are almost shocking considering how poorly they have played with a large part of their form being influenced by injuries to key men in the squad.
Ange Postecoglou has publicly appealed to the club to do business in the winter but the Australian’s voices have fallen on deaf ears with Daniel Levy & Company busy safeguarding the club’s commercial interests over sporting ambitions. As a matter of fact, they have recently been tipped to spend £100 million before the ongoing window’s deadline day on February 3rd.

Football finance expert Dan Plumley believes the club has the resources to be more ambitious in the transfer market as he replied by saying the following to Tottenham Hotspur News when asked whether Tottenham could spend £100 million.
“Yes, ultimately, Spurs are one of those clubs that can spend if they want to, and we’ve always said that.”
It’s no secret that Tottenham Hotspur are one of the safest clubs from Financial Fair Play ramifications and to the board’s credit, their monetary has always been well looked after, even in the midst of the new stadium’s construction and then subsequent coronavirus pandemic. However, the blatant neglect of the sporting aspect of things is there for all to see.
For as much support as Postecoglou deserves, it is almost impossible to picture Tottenham Hotspur diving into the transfer market in the week that remains between now and the end of the window. Their lack of proactiveness coupled with clubs now closing doors to selling their key players means Spurs will have to go into the second half of the season with similar faces.

Postecoglou will sincerely hope that the injuries are kinder to him for the upcoming few months as Spurs seriously stand a chance of winning a piece of silverware come the end of the season with a fully fit squad.
