Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to sign Bayern Munich sensation Mathys Tel in what could end up being a late winter window highlight transfer.
Tottenham’s pursuit of Tel

The Lilywhites have been struggling on the clinical front offensively in the ongoing campaign, and they have been dealt a hefty blow with Dominic Solanke picking up an injury at such a crucial time in the season. Now, Daniel Levy has been looking to bring in a potent forward in the roster at White Hart Lane.
Spurs have been looking to sign Tel at N17, with La Parisien insisting that the Lilywhites have a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich over a probable £50 million transfer. However, the 19-year-old is yet to make a decision on his final destination, with multiple Premier League clubs interested in his signature.
King makes Kane claim
And former North Londoners scout Bryan King insists that Tel will be looking to take advice from Spurs icon Harry Kane about life in North London. Speaking in an interview with Tottenham News, King said:
“Tel would probably be playing regular football at Tottenham. The player and his agent will be talking to Kane, without a shadow of a doubt. There is no problem at Tottenham in terms of the club’s facilities – the training ground and stadium are far better than anything else in Europe.
“Therefore, the chance to play there every week would be a great incentive for any player, young or old. Kane will put Tel straight on what the area is about and what the club is about. I would think that Kane has told him it is a great club.
“A fee has been agreed. However, what needs to be agreed upon now is personal terms, and Tel will need guarantees that he is going to play regularly at Spurs.”
While Levy is yet to make an outfield signing in the ongoing winter transfer window despite the injury problems that Ange Postecoglou has suffered in the ongoing season. But it looks like the patience will pay off if the North Londoners are able to get their hands on Tel.
