Saudi Pro League side wants to sign 23yo Tottenham & Arsenal target

Tottenham are interested in signing Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen.

Tottenham Hotspur had been trying to pursue a move for Villarreal’s game-changing sensation Alex Baena, who has been taking massive strides in the ongoing campaign in the Spanish top tier.

Daniel Levy and Tottenham have been looking to bolster the current squad with some reinforcements given how Ange Postecoglou is left thin on options in the middle of the park and on the offensive side of things, and Baena’s potential arrival could resolve multiple problems in the setup at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham have been looking at Baena

The 23-year-old is someone who can operate in multiple roles along the field; he can be used not only as a winger, a number ten, or even in the middle of the park, a luxury player that Postecoglou is yet to have in his roster at Hotspur Way. And the fact that he can add to several positions will not only increase the depth at N17 but also ensure that the Australian head coach has tactical know-how of trying different things within a game.

Moreover, he is quite capable of creating chances and contributing to goals, something that has caught the attention of Tottenham as well as Arsenal. However, by the looks of it, he could be moving beyond Europe.

Baena can move beyond Tottenham and Arsenal

According to the latest report on the player by Spanish publication fichajes, Saudi side AAhli haveve made it a priority to get their hands on the 23-year-old. And while Villarreal are not interested in losing their star player, a proposal from the Saudi Pro League that is financially viable will force the La Liga giants to turn heads.

For Tottenham, having Al Ahli interested in signing Baena will be a big blow to their pursuit of his signature, as no European club would match the finances on offer in Saudi Arabia.
