Tottenham’s injury crisis deepens as defender limps off with ‘serious’ problem vs Elfsborg

Tottenham Hotspur provide Radu Dragusin injury update.

Tottenham Hotspur came out on the winning side in the Lilywhites 3-0 win over Elfsborg in the Europa League, and while that may have secured the North Londoners place in the UEFA second tier’s Round of 16 for this campaign, it came at a cost, as Romanian centre-back Radu Dragusin could be a potential addition in the treatment room.

The 22-year-old has been leading the defence at White Hart Lane in Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero’s absence; however, after coming on at half time, he was forced off in the 66th minute as he was replaced by Dane Scarlett, and speaking on TNT Sports (as relayed by Tottenham News), Glenn Hoddle has expressed concerns over his knee injury, claiming it to be “serious.”

There is already an injury crisis at White Hart Lane; now Dragusin…

Postecoglou came out with the reasons that paved the way for the addition of Dragusin to the squad despite not being completely fit.
Will Dragusin serve the sidelines for an extended period?

Ange Postecoglou and the Lilywhites supporters got a massive boost with Micky van de Ven’s return; however, they are already facing a defensive crisis at Hotspur Way, with the likes of Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, Destiny Udogie, and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario all serving the sidelines. And now the former Genoa star could be taking up a bed in the treatment room as Hoddle said:

“That looks quite serious because look, he has played the ball there. It’s gone, then he’s landed, and wow, then he holds his knee.”

If the injury turns out to be as serious as claimed, it will be a massive blow for Spurs, given how the upcoming EFL Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool at Anfield on 6 February could be important for Postecoglou and his prospects of keeping his job at N17.
