“He is looking at six months…” – Former scout makes injury claim about Tottenham defender

Ange Postecoglou has been enduring massive pressure on his shoulders as the Australian head coach struggles with injuries and makeshift changes that have left Tottenham Hotspur in trenches in the ongoing 2024/25 Premier League campaign, and just as things were looking better with Micky van de Ven making his comeback, the Lilywhites have another defensive injury problem as Romanian centre-back Radu Dragusin finds himself sweating over his time on the sidelines.

The former Genoa centre-back has to be subbed at the stroke of halftime in the North Londoners midweek win against IF Elfsborg in the UEFA Europa League with what is dubbed to be a “serious” injury. And as per the recent report from media outlet The Telegraph yesterday, there are fears that Radu could now serve the majority of what is left of the ongoing season on the sidelines.

King speaks on Dragusin injury

Postecoglou came out with the reasons that paved the way for the addition of Dragusin to the squad despite not being completely fit.
Will Dragusin serve the sidelines for an extended period?

Now, former North Londoners scout Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, insists that the 22-year-old could even be ruled out of action for a minimum time period of six months. He said:

“Drăgușin ended up getting himself injured in an innocuous position on the pitch. It was a silly challenge as far as I was concerned. An unnecessary challenge considering where he was on the pitch. However, those knee injuries are never fun, I know how he feels.

“If he is injured his ACL, he is looking at six months on the sidelines, minimum.”

What now?

This is a tricky thing now, no Romero, Micky having a difficult season with injuries, and now Dragusin puts his hands up. It’s one of those things that the Lilyhites have been dealing with along the season; however, on a high note, Daniel Levy has at least made a signing in the position. The Premier League has pulled off a major coup by bringing in defender Kevin Danso from Ligue 1 side Lens, who will prove to be a valuable addition for the remainder of the campaign.

For now, we can only hope that the injury to Dragusin is not as serious as it looks and he is back among contention soon.
