BBC Journalist makes ‘luck’ claim in Tottenham win vs Brentford

Roy Keane believes European results will dictate Postecoglou future at Tottenham.

Ange Postecoglou has been dealing with a lot of injuries in his roster, and despite the problems with the availability of key players, the Australian head coach managed to coach a win against Brentford at Gtech Community Stadium this weekend as Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways in the English top tier.

However, it was surely not a straightforward game, and going back to his dressing room, Thomas Frank would be thinking how his side couldn’t find the back of Antonin Kinsky’s net, given how they were not only apt in their attacking sequences but also ensured that the chances came every time they went forward. While some resulted in decent stops from Spurs winter signing, others were miscued shots that went nowhere.

Brentford were cross-ing Postecoglou without any remorse

Sport scientist fires Tosin Adarabioyo warning to Tottenham Hotspur.
Pressure will be eased on Ange Postecoglou after recent win.

And BBC Sport football news reporter Nizaar Kinsella highlighted that during the game. The Bees with the Lilywhites target Wissa in the middle were targeting consistent crosses that could prove trouble to the North Londoners makeshift defence; however, none of those resulted in a goal as the visitors took all three points with a two-nil win.

The journalist insisted that Postecoglou’s side were riding their luck as they dealt with all those crosses. He said (via. BBC):

Yoane Wissa has flicked an effort onto the crossbar from close range as the latest warning shot. It followed a good save from goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky stopped the striker scoring moments earlier – with Pedro Porro clearing before any Brentford players followed up. It’s fair to say that Tottenham are riding their luck, especially when defending the huge number of crosses into the box, which now total 20 crosses.

Well, the Lilywhites have had a difficult time with injuries this season, and a lot of things have gone their way, and Ange Postecoglou would be glad that something went his way, as a win in the league would be a massive lift in pressure that has been mounting on his shoulders.
