Bid rejected: Premier League club reject Tottenham’s bid for highly rated centre-back

published :

Tottenham are interested in signing Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen.

Ange Postecoglou has been vying for a new centre back going into the final hours of the winter transfer window as the Australian head coach looks to ensure that his side doesn’t suffer the same fate if there are to be injuries at the heart of defence in the conclusive half of the campaign, like it did in the first half with injuries to Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero; and the Lilywhites have been looking to bring in highly experienced and talented Crystal Palace centre back Marc Guehi to White Hart Lane.

Daniel Levy apparently went through with a bid for the Chelsea academy graduate’s signature, which was rejected by the Eagles, per TeamTalk.

Spurs did bring in Kevin Danso from Lens on Sunday on an initial loan deal that has an option to make it permanent; however, with the recent injury to Radu Dragusin that has been deemed ‘serious,’ the Lilywhites are in for another reinforcement in the position before the transfer window calls curtains.

No Disasi; Now Guehi eyed…

In Guehi, Tottenham get someone who not only knows the league in and out but also is one of the better defenders playing for a club outside of the big six in the English top tier.

With Guehi, Levy has also been alternatively trying to make a move for Chelsea centre back Axel Disasi and while the club chairman had a deal agreed with the West Londoners, the player prefers a move to Aston Villa instead.

Now that Spurs have moved to Guehi, it is to be seen who blinks first after the rejection of the initial bid.
