Injured Tottenham star ruled out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season

Radu Dragusin suffered a knee injury in Tottenham’s 3-0 win over IF Elfsborg in the Europa League last week
Tottenham Hotspur are fearing the worst about Radu Dragusin after he suffered an injury in the Europa League last week.
The defender went down with a bad injury after he awkwardly twisted his knee against IF Elfsborg, forcing him off the pitch in the second half. The last thing Ange Postecoglou wanted was another injury, especially in his backline, but unfortunately for him, there is some bad news coming his way.
According to a report from The Evening Standard, Tottenham fear that Radu Dragusin’s season might be over after suffering a serious knee injury in the 3-0 win over Swedish side Elfsborg.

The Romanian international was due to see a specialist on Monday to learn the full extent of the injury but Spurs are expecting the worst-case situation. There is every chance the centre-back has played the last game of his season, potentially adding more misery to Ange Postecoglou’s side.
After the game against Elfsborg, Postecoglou admitted it “doesn’t look good” for Dragusin, who has been thrust into the first team in recent weeks and months in the wake of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven’s injuries. Due to Romero and Van de Ven spending significant chunks of the campaign on the sidelines, the hulky Romanian has been partnered in central defence by Ben Davies and even teenage midfield talent Archie Gray. Perhaps, this has resulted in the 23-year-old’s inconsistent performances in a Spurs shirt this term.
However, Dragusin now looks set to miss the remainder of the campaign. Tottenham were already scouring the transfer market for defensive reinforcements and Dragusin’s knee injury forced their hands to sign Kevin Danso on loan from RC Lens with an obligation to buy in the summer.

Danso’s acquisition was much-needed given the defensive injury crisis at White Hart Lane. However, with Romero still out and Van de Ven being eased into the team after returning from two months on the sidelines, the North Londoners still lack depth as far as the central defensive unit is concerned. Big Ange is already down to bare bones and another unfortunate injury could leave him further in trouble.
