Tottenham made a late request in the deadline day transfer which comes as a huge coup

Harry Redknapp thinks Ange Postecoglou is under pressure at Tottenham Hotspur.

It was a deadline day of ups and downs from a potential bid of up to £70 million to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi to eventually landing Bayern Munich sensation Mathys Tel.

Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy had their intentions of bringing in a new forward this window clear since the first day of the window, and they did try to pounce on a couple of opportunities where available; however, none of the transfers materialised initially. Then, the Lilywhites went on to lose Dominic Solanke with an injury, and the dynamics to bring in another forward had to be fuelled, and now, after a series of acceptance and rejection, Tel is finally a Tottenham Hotspur player.

Eventually the Frenchman had agreed to move to White Hart Lane on a vanilla loan transfer; however, the North Londoners put in a late request to include a purchase option in the deal that was accepted by the player, his representatives, and Bayern Munich (via. Fabrizio Romano). Now, the Lilywhites hold an option to buy the 19-year-old at €55m on a possible 6-year contract in the upcoming summer transfer window.

This is a major coup for Levy, given how he can bring in one of the brightest talents to White Hart Lane, not only for the second half of the season but also ensure that he goes on to stay at the club if the option is exercised.

There is a chance that Tel will come straight into the lineup and fill in for the sidelined Dominic Solanke.
