The Lilywhites supporters had been hungry for a new forward in the recently concluded winter transfer window, and following a disappointing first few weeks in terms of recruiting an offensive player, Daniel Levy smashed it on the deadline day as Tottenham Hotspur signed French sensation Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich.
The singing of Tel has been met by a lot of hype and hopes among the fans at White Hart Lane, given how he was one of the best prospects in European football, although his development came to a halt following his move to the German giants, where accumulating minutes under his belt became a thing of concern.
But he is free from the shackles of Allianz Arena, and he can get hands-on with all his flair and persona at Hotspur Way.
To aid in boosting the acquisition of the 19-year-old’s services, the North Londoners also managed an option of €55m, which will see Tel pen down a six-year contract at N17.
Postecoglou comments on Tel permanent prospects

And while many would think if Spurs are going to take up the option to make the transfer a permanent prospect given the finances involved, Australian head coach at the helm of White Hart Lane, Ange Postecoglou, in a recent interview insisted that the club is already thinking about having Tel for a long time rather than the initial loan period.
Speaking about Tel, the under-pressure coach said, “He’ll be a Tottenham player, mate. He’ll be a Tottenham player… I didn’t bring him here for six months.”
While everyone connected to the club is excited about the prospects of watching Tel feature at White Hart Lane, hopefully he takes up the pace and physical side of the Premier League soon.
