Tottenham are interested in recruiting Fiorentina striker Moise Kean
Tottenham Hotspur managed to tie up an impressive deal for Mathys Tel on transfer deadline day last January, with Ange Postecoglou confident that the Bayern Munich loanee will prove a hit in the Premier League.
While Spurs had a strong end to the winter transfer window, the Hotspur Way chiefs have already started planning for the next window as they look to make alterations to the squad following an extremely disappointing 2024/25 campaign.
Ange Postecoglou’s future has been plunged into doubt following back-to-back eliminations from the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, combined with the team’s unacceptable 14th position in the Premier League. The Australian tactician might need to win the Europa League—which has now become important from former England goalkeeper Joe Hart’s point of view—to give the necessary confidence to the board that he is still the right man to lead the club forward.

Nonetheless, Daniel Levy has started planning behind the scenes for the summer. According to a report from Italian outlet Tuttosport, Tottenham officials have flown to Italy to scout Fiorentina striker Moise Kean. They have been following him with ‘great interest’ ahead of next season, but could face competition from fierce North London rivals Arsenal for the striker’s signature.
Moise Kean previously had an unsuccessful spell at Everton, scoring only two goals in 32 Premier League appearances. But since moving to Fiorentina from Juventus last summer he has been reborn as a player, netting 15 Serie A goals—only Mateo Retegui of Atalanta has scored more (20).
The aforementioned report adds the Tottenham representatives were expected to attend Fiorentina’s 2-1 away loss at Inter Milan on Monday to watch the 24-year-old forward in action. Kean played the full 90 minutes but failed to score as Inter beat Fiorentina at San Siro.

The Italy international has just €52 million release clause, which makes him a very tempting option in today’s age and transfer market, especially for Tottenham who are planning to offload the likes of Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Timo Werner at the end of the season. The trio are experienced members of Ange Postecoglou’s squad, so they’d require adequate replacements if moved on in the summer.

At 24, Kean would represent a smart long-term investment at White Hart Lane. The Italian striker has regained his mojo with Fiorentina, rejuvenating his career after a couple of underwhelming years. The Vercelli-born talent has proven that he knows how to find the back of the net consistently this season and could be a strong option to cover and compete with club-record signing Dominic Solanke.
That being said, Spurs must do everything within their powers to beat Arsenal to Kean’s signature. Having failed to deliver at Everton, the Italy striker may be tempted by the prospect of returning to the Premier League and proving his detractors wrong.
