Spanish side send message hinting at €15 million Tottenham transfer

The Lilywhites supporters had grown frustrated watching Bryan Gil struggling to find his feet at White Hart Lane, but the silky winger has found himself again in his current loan spell at Girona given his commendable performances in the Spanish top tier, with the La Liga side looking to make his stay a permanent one.

There is said to be a €15 million option in the original loan terms, which could be activated in the off-season, and while it is a figure that would not be out of reach for Girona, they are said to be contemplating whether to buy the 24-year-old or not, per Estadio Deportivo (via. Sport Witness).

Girona’s Sporting Director Quique Cárcel is said to be very keen on keeping Gil at Estadi Montilivi, with the 50-year-old viewing the Spain international as a valuable investment for the future, believing that the quoted €15 million fee could end up proving to be a bargain if the 24-year-old is to continue to develop at the current rate.

Gil recently celebrated his birthday, and the report states that Girona’s management sent in a subtle message wishing him a happy birthday on social media and using the phrase “for many years” – this does show that the Spanish side is already planning with the silky wide forward for years.

That being said, it is good to see that Girona’s leadership is cautious given how Gil is yet to justify the €25 million transfer fee that Daniel Levy initially paid for his services. But he has shown potential for greatness this season, and it does look like they would end up taking up the option to sign him on a permanent deal.
