Arsenal told to access 280 goal striker’s preference in a transfer that could rock North London

There have been reports about Tottenham Hotspur arch-rivals Arsenal considering a move for White Hart Lane icon Harry Kane, who is currently plying his trade in the German top tier with Bayern Munich; however, the Gunners will need to get into behind-the-scenes discussions with the player and his representatives to determine the England international’s openness for a probable transfer before making any formal offers to the Bundesliga giants.

But first, assessing Kane’s willingness

Danny Murphy thinks Liam Delap could be Harry Kane's successor at Tottenham.

Former scout Mick Brown, in a report with Football Insider, emphasised how important it is for the N5-based side to be assessing the 31-year-old’s willingness to move to the Emirates Stadium, given his legendary status at N17, where he has netted a record-breaking 280 goals in 435 appearances.

Bayern Munich would also have a say in any move, and Arsenal would need to cough up a massive fee to make it happen. More so, Tottenham have the first refusal and it remains to be seen how we will react should it ever reach that far.

Arsenal’s need for a clinical presence upfront

Mikel Arteta’s striker search could lead him to Tottenham icon.

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have been looking outwards in order to bring in a new centre forward, with the current faces in their roster not being clinical enough to fire them to the title. Kai Havertz, while he is a massive factor in big games, has a high ratio of big chances missed, very much like Gabriel Jesus. And now with both the aforementioned duo injured, Arteta (and Arsenal supporters) are fuming over the need for a reliable goalscorer at London Colney.

Brown insists that if Arsenal were to pursue a move for Kane, they must ensure that he is open to a probable transfer to avoid any backlash from fans if he declines the opportunity because of his ties to N17, as he goes on to suggest that the Gunners should conduct talks with Kane and his representatives to understand his interest before moving into approaching Bayern Munich with an offer.

Harry Kane is not alone among targets at Arsenal. The likes of Diogo Jota from Liverpool, Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa, and Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig have also been recently linked with a move to N5.

For Tottenham, if any talks were to amount to a probable transfer for Kane to Arsenal, Levy should be quick to step in and ensure that he pays whatever money needs to be paid to avoid the 31-year-old moving to the other side of the town.
