There has been a lack of options in the middle of the park at White Hart Lane this season given how Daniel Levy and the chiefs at White Hart Lane failed to fill in for the summer departures of Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and while it was one of the standpoints of the January window, Tottenham Hotspur will rather make a marquee investment in the upcoming summer as the Lilywhites eye a move for Crystal Palace sensation Adam Wharton.
Wharton could be the answer to gaps in Tottenham’s midfield

Wharton is a highly technical figure in the middle of the park who can not only glide past presses but also recognise opportunities to pass the ball through the opponent’s tactical pockets. He is also quite potent in controlling the pace of the game. All of the aforementioned traits are tough to find in the current roster at White Hart Lane, and Ange Postecoglou (or whoever is in charge at N17 for the next season) will love to bring his qualities to Hotspur Way.
And in a recent report by Football Insider, senior transfer correspondent Pete O’Rouke has backed the North Londoners to move for the 21-year-old.
There is a belief among the club that his addition would complement Archie Gray in the middle of the park in the years to come.
Can Spurs afford Adam?

Though despite all the prospects of landing a player of his abilities, the Eagles are perfectly placed to be in the driving position for any interest that Daniel Levy goes on to register. Palace has the 21-year-old tied in a long-term contract (till 2029), and that means the North Londoners would have to make a significant financial bid to bring the chiefs at Selhurst Park on the table.
On paper, Wharton appears to be an ideal fit at N17, given how his acquisition would see them make a long-term investment in a player that has significant prospects to become one of the best, if not the best, in his position. Moreover, he will also fit into Levy’s newly followed transfer strategy to bring in highly regarded young players at White Hart Lane and develop them through the corridors at Hotspur Way.
