Tottenham suffered a fresh triple injury setback in the 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday
Tottenham Hotspur picked up a crucial 1-0 win over Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with James Maddison’s first-half goal proving the difference.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou faced several selection dilemmas ahead of the fixture, with five players returning from injury. He picked up a strong and balanced XI and the boys did the job on Sunday evening. The result makes it back-to-back Premier League victories for the North London outfit for the first time this season, lifting them to 12th in the table.
James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario walked straight into Ange Postecoglou’s XI after recovering from their respective injury problems, while Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson came on in the second half. Destiny Udogie, a regular starter at left-back before his injury, was an unused substitute.

However, the Australian tactician has now confirmed fresh injury concerns for Son Heung-min, Kevin Danso and Rodrigo Bentancur.
“Danso, Rodri and Sonny all picked up knocks. They should be fine but the beauty now is that we can allow them to rest and recover rather than throwing them straight back out there,” Ange Postecoglou told Football London.
Players getting injured, returning to the team and again entering the treatment room has been the theme of the season for Spurs. Postecoglou welcomed back five players for injuries against Man United but has now revealed fresh blows for three players, although they are minor knocks and the likes of Son, Bentancur and Danso should be fine ahead of the next game at Ipswich Town.

Son, Bentancur and Danso played their part in the crucial victory over Ruben Amorim’s side. Starting on the left flank, Son caused problems for Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui. Bentancur ran the show from the middle of the park, while Danso was a rock at the back and helped the Lilywhites keep a much-needed clean sheet.

Given several key players returned against the Red Devils, Big Ange will now have the luxury to let them rest and recover rather than force them to play through the pain barrier. With Tottenham out of the domestic cup competitions, they will have a full week to prepare for the away game against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Big Ange and Co. will be hoping to build some momentum by making it three consecutive wins in the Premier League.
