Club insider tips young Premier League manager as potential Ange Postecoglou replacement at Tottenham

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola eyed by Spurs as potential Ange Postecoglou replacement

The pressure on Ange Postecoglou’s shoulders has been immense of late given the inconsistency that the North Londoners have faced in the ongoing campaign, and the supporters at White Hart Lane continue to be frustrated with his all-out attacking playing style without a balanced defence, which has kept it easy for the opponents to break down his tactical setup, especially given the pace and power of the English Premier League.

These frustrations could be aggregated into numbers with the Lilywhites sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table, and while that was becoming secondary with cup competitions becoming a primary thing of concentration at White Hart Lane, the North Londoners dropped out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in the space of three days last week, adding further frustration to the Lilywhites supporters.

Many believe that Postecoglou would be shown the door if the performances don’t go on the up in the upcoming weeks, and the chiefs at Hotspur Way have already started sounding out potential replacements for the Australian head coach should he be shown the door. And Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola could be one of the potential successors to the former Celtic manager.

Iraola could be the ideal fit for Tottenham

Iraola has done a wonderful job at Vitality Stadium, taking the club from a regular relegation survivor to one of the best clubs in the country besides the big six, and has shown glimpses of a strong tactical framework that has not only been hard to break down but also has led to consistent goals, especially against the sides contending at the top of the table.

And John Wenham, owner of the reputed Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, has spoken about Levy bringing Iraola to White Hart Lane. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, he said:

“Iraola seems to have that magic touch about him. If you think he lost Dominic Solanke to us in the summer, and his team has somehow carried on improving. He seems like a top coach who is destined for good things.

“Therefore, if Postecoglou was to no longer be the Tottenham manager, Iraola would certainly be at the top of a shortlist of managers that I suggest the club look at.”

With this mounting pressure from supporters and the probables of a sack looming on the horizon, the North Londoners and the chiefs at N17 have to think hard about what comes next. And if Postecoglou were to be relieved of his job, Andoni Iraola might well be the perfect man to take Tottenham into a new age…
