Tottenham have extensively scouted Sunderland’s midfield talent Jobe Bellingham throughout the season
Tottenham Hotspur have made some exciting signings over the past two transfer windows, focusing on more youth than experience. They added young talents to Ange Postecoglou’s roster, with Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray proving rare bright spots amid an underwhelming season at White Hart Lane.
Now, with Yves Bissouma set the enter the final year of his contract in the summer and James Maddison blowing hot and cold in his second season in North London, Spurs could make an investment in midfield when the transfer window reopens.
According to former scout Mick Brown, Tottenham have scouted Sunderland sensation Jobe Bellingham multiple times this season. They could make a move for the central midfielder if he decides to leave the Stadium of Light at the end of the campaign.

Sunderland could consider selling the teenager if they receive a substantial bid and fail in their promotion push.
“I think Sunderland would let him go if they got a good price for him. Especially if they don’t get promoted this season, they’re going to listen to offers,” Mick Brown was quoted by GIVEMESPORT.
“Crystal Palace and Tottenham have had scouts watching him this season so they’ll be two of the teams in the running if he is going to leave.
“So, it’ll be up to them to assess whether he’s ready to make that jump.
“From a Sunderland point of view, knowing the way the owners want to operate, I think if they get a huge bid for him then they’ll let him go.”
Having joined Sunderland from Birmingham City in the summer of 2023, Jobe Bellingham has established himself as a key operator in the middle of the park. After bagging seven goals in 47 appearances in his first season for the Black Cats, he has shone this campaign with four goals and three assists in 28 Championship appearances.
The England under-21 international’s contributions have helped the Black Cats sit fourth in the Championship and maintain their hopes of a Premier League return later this year. His impressive displays in the Championship have caught the attention of multiple top-flight clubs, including Spurs.

Big credit to the club’s scouting network for identifying Bergvall and Gray and luring them to White Hart Lane last year. However, the Tottenham chiefs should not stop here and must try getting in Bellingham from Sunderland.
A box-to-box midfielder with a solid mix of technical skills and physical attributes, Bellingham would potentially be another addition that enhances Tottenham’s pool of young talent. The ex-Birmingham City man can take the game to the next level and unlock his true potential under Postecoglou’s watchful eyes.

Bellingham was valued at around £20million in the winter transfer window, but no club came forward with a concrete offer. The price could very well rise if he continues to perform well. That being said, it remains to be seen whether Spurs will act on their interest in Bellingham later in 2025, given their priorities may lie in strengthening the defensive unit.
