Tottenham have shown an interest in signing Fiorentina striker Moise Kean during the summer transfer window
Tottenham Hotspur bolstered their attacking unit during the past January transfer window with the signing of Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich.
Mathys Tel has started well for Spurs, giving their attack a different dimension. While the Lilywhites do have an option to buy the Frenchman at the end of their season, the Hotspur Way chiefs are not fully counting on him and have started planning for the next window as they look to make alterations to the squad following an extremely disappointing 2024/25 campaign.
Tottenham have been subject to recent links with Fiorentina striker Moise Kean. The Italy international previously had an unsuccessful spell at Everton, scoring only two goals in 32 Premier League appearances. But since moving to Fiorentina from Juventus last summer, he has been simply unstoppable.

One of Serie A’s best strikers this season, Moise Kean has netted 15 goals in 23 Serie A appearances thus far. Juventus must be regretting their decision to sell the 24-year-old, whose form is a testament to the talent of a player who showed such promise at the embryonic stages of his career. Unsurprisingly, the Vercelli-born striker’s goalscoring displays have caught the attention of several clubs across Europe.
According to GIVEMESPORT chief correspondent Ben Jacobs, Tottenham have held internal talks about Kean, although no approach has been made to Fiorentina yet. It could be a story worth keeping an eye.
“From Tottenham’s point of view, it really is just something that has been spoken about internally,” Ben Jacobs exclusively told GIVEMESPORT.
“There’s been no kind of approach or legwork yet with a view to the summer, so it may be one to watch, but I don’t think there’s a guarantee at this point that Kean himself is looking to leave Fiorentina – who he only joined this season.
“When a player has this kind of breakthrough, a bit like Ademola Lookman at Atalanta, they often are relatively loyal to their club.
“And the release clause that he has, which I think is in excess of €50million (£43million), is far too high for anyone to consider triggering it at this stage.”

Kean has been one of Serie A’s best strikers this season along with Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui. He endured lacklustre stints with Everton, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus earlier in his career, but the centre-forward has undoubtedly elevated his game to new heights.

On the brink of turning 25, it seems the Italy international is finally rediscovering his spark. However, as Jacobs stated, the €50million release clause is too much for someone who is enjoying the most productive season in his career. Kean is yet to prove himself a reliable and consistent goalscorer, which makes that aforementioned buyout clause steep for any club including Spurs.
That being said, Tottenham must continue monitoring Kean’s performances until the end of the season before deciding whether to trigger his release clause or not.
