Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race for the signing of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze
Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make some big changes to their squad in the summer after a hugely underwhelming Premier League season.
There is every chance some of the players from the current roster are potentially playing their final seasons at White Hart Lane. There is Timo Werner whose loan move shall not be turned into a permanent one, and as a result, he will return back to RB Leipzig. Richarlison’s future also remains uncertain due to persistent injury problems, while Cristian Romero has been the subject of interest from Real Madrid.
Club legend Son Heung-min will enter the final year of his contract in the summer (Transfermarkt), having seen the Hotspur Way chiefs trigger an extension in his deal to secure his future until the end of the 2025/26 campaign. However, the South Korean’s powers are on the decline and it has reportedly left question marks over his long-term future at Spurs.
Tottenham are now open to cashing Son in at the end of the season and have started scouring the market for potential replacements. Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has reportedly emerged as one of the North London club’s top summer targets. Ange Postecoglou wants Spurs to sign the playmaker ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Spurs are supposedly the early frontrunners for the Crystal Palace attacker’s signature. However, Eberechi Eze has a £60million release clause in his contract, and the Eagles would expect any potential suitor to match that price point.
Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King thinks Eze would welcome a move to Tottenham in the summer. He thinks the England international is a “Tottenham-type player” and would interested in joining Ange Postecoglou’s side as Palace are a mid-table Premier League club.
“Eze is a player with good quality,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“However, he seems to be a very similar player to James Maddison. I do think Eze would be interested in a move to Tottenham because Crystal Palace are a mid-table Premier League club.
“He’s got himself in the England setup, and he is a very interesting player. Whether he is better than Maddison I’m not sure, but he is certainly in that bracket. I’m not surprised that Spurs are interested in him because he is a Tottenham-type player.
“A contract offer would certainly interest Eze and his representatives. However, I think he will need some guarantees that things are going to improve at Tottenham, on the pitch.”

Eze has been among the most exciting players in the Premier League in recent years, and if Palace are open to selling him, he’d undoubtedly be a coveted commodity. So, Spurs will have to fight tooth and nail to secure his signature.
Daniel Levy and Postecoglou have to sell the Tottenham project to Eze and his representatives if they are determined to lure him across the capital. There are no doubts about the Greenwich-born talent’s ability and how he’d enhance Big Ange’s squad next season. However, if Tottenham are to stand a genuine chance of signing the England midfielder, they would at least need to qualify for Europe.
