Tottenham Hotspur could be without James Maddison for the game against Ipswich Town on Saturday
Tottenham Hotspur prepared to travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town on Saturday, hoping to make it three consecutive wins in the Premier League.
Considering Spurs beat Manchester United 1-0 at home last Sunday, Ange Postecoglou will be hoping his side now have the much-needed confidence boost to go out and get the crucial three points against Ipswich Town.
James Maddison’s goal in the first half turned out to be the difference between Tottenham and Man United in the last outing. The midfielder returned from injury and made a telling impact for Ange Postecoglou’s side, thereby, also silencing critics like Roy Keane. However, his availability is now in doubt for the upcoming game.

According to an exclusive report from SpursWeb, James Maddison is a selection concern for Ange Postecoglou ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Ipswich having picked up a slight knock following the win over Man United. it is believed to be a minor issue which the England international has sustained and is not expected to keep him out for long.
The 28-year-old missed five games with a calf strain before returning against United. After a strong performance, he was taken off in the 64th minute for Brennan Johnson, who also returned from an injury in the previous game.
Maddison’s performances have not been consistent in his second season at White Hart Lane. The Coventry-born talent has not managed to cement his spot in the starting XI, with Postecoglou often preferring Pape Matar Sarr’s energy and industry over his artistry and guile in the Tottenham engine room. Yet, he has delivered 10 goals and six assists in 32 games across all competitions.

Having reportedly picked up a knock, it now remains to be seen whether Big Ange risks including him in the travelling squad to Portman Road or letting him heal for next mid-week’s big game against Manchester City in the Premier League. Maddison has been free from injury problems this season until he suffered a calf strain last month, so the Australian tactician should be wise to leave him at home for Saturday’s game.

That being said, however, Big Ange did not mention anything about Maddison’s possible injury concern in his pre-match presser conference on Friday afternoon. So, this may signal that the injury sustained to the English playmaker is a minor one, one that should not be enough to keep him out of the squad for the away game against the Tractor Boys.
