Daniel Levy has been quite active in the transfer market to identify and go on to land highly acclaimed young players, given how he has tweaked his transfer strategy to develop talents through the corridors of Hotspur Way, and among the list of targets at White Hart Lane, Spurs found themselves in the midst of an off-the-field North London Derby as they went shoulder to shoulder with noisy neighbours Arsenal in their intention to sign 18-year-old Norwegian midfield prodigy Sverre Nypan.
The Norwegian ace is doing everything right with Rosenborg BK, which has attracted all the European elites to secure his signature. The likes of Manchester City and Arsenal were looking to sign the silky midfielder in the recently concluded winter window.
Why Europe’s elite are chasing Sverre Nypan
Nypan is not your regular talent. He is special. Hailing from the streets of Trondheim, he initiated his footballing journey at Nardo FK before he started making waves for all the right reasons at Rosenborg BK, and his talent was so evident that he went on to make his first-team bow at fifteen. And since then, he has not only taken strides in his game but also continued to impress at Lerkendal stadion; to put it into perspective, he boasts a tally of 13 goals and 8 assists in the Norwegian top tier this season.
But while the aforementioned trio of clubs tried to sign him in the winter, all missed out, and now there is another giant aiming for his signature…
From Trondheim to Tottenham? It won’t be easy…

Premier League heavyweights Liverpool have entered the fray to sign Nypan, per Football Transfers.
Liverpool have been keen to bring in new faces in the middle of the park, and with Nypan, the Reds can bring in someone who is silky and direct and can feature in that number eight role, one that Dominik Szoboszlai features in currently at L4 under Arne Slot.
While Arsenal, they are looking to use their captain Martin Odegaard to lure the youngster to London Conley.

We will see how this goes when the summer transfer window comes around, but for Tottenham and Levy, Nypan represents not just a signing, but a statement of intent that they remain committed to succeeding with the new long-term strategy at N17 but it’s not going to be easy, Levy will have to lay strong groundwork if he is to beat the likes of Arsenal, City and Liverpool to Nypan’s signatures.
