Ange Postecoglou has been pushing Daniel Levy to bring in more dynamic players to the roster at White Hart Lane as the Australian head coach looks to add players who can drive with the ball and place those inch-perfect passes that could unlock defences, and as the chiefs at Hotspur Way look at possibilities to bring in Spanish versatile forward Ferran Torres.
Torres is one of those players who can play as an inside forward as well as in a role that requires stretching the opponent’s back lines, something he is doing exceptionally well at Barcelona.
Tottenham and Chelsea battle for Ferran Torres

Although while the North Londoners think about whether they should compound their interest in the player into a transfer, Premier League rivals Chelsea have expressed interest in landing the 24-year-old. The Blues are reportedly said to be exploring a deal worth €30m to secure his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window, per Fichajes.
Torres has been playing an impressive season for the Catalans, where he has netted eleven goals complemented by three assists in 952 minutes of playing time spread across 27 appearances.
Who wants him more?
Chelsea have been looking for a wide forward to fill out the gap that Mudryk has left in the roster at Stamford Bridge with the Ukrainian international indefinitely available because of the doping test failure. And with others in the squad having a bit of inconsistent seasons, someone of esteemed quality who operates in a sustained frame would be ideal, especially in the current system that Enzo Maresca has deployed in West London.
While for Tottenham, Postecoglou needs someone who will take Timo Werner’s place in the roster, and in Torres, there is a possibility to bring in a player who can help deploy a robust press while also bringing a sense of taking different roles within a game, giving the Australian head coach more tactics to work with. His ability to come deep, and link up play can complement the likes of Son Heung-min and James Maddison from Spurs’ current roster which will give Postecoglou a dynamic threat in the final third.

Keep his last injury in mind
But one thing that both the aforementioned clubs should be concerned about is Torres was serving the sidelines owing to a hamstring injury at the conclusion of the last calendar year, which was a roughly two-month-long hiatus, and given how Tottenham have had their problems with injuries this season, another player with muscular trouble would be the last thing that Spurs would want in the roster.
