German international Timo Werner is currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur from RB Leipzig, and while there were a lot of expectations from him when he moved to White Hart Lane in his second loan spell, those expectations have materialised only in disappointment for the Lilywhites supporters given how he has struggled to get going in the ongoing campaign.
Werner is someone who will work hard for his teammates, press right, and be in the right spaces, but then when it comes to finishing the chances at his disposal, he finds a way to falter. And this is something that cost him his place at Chelsea and now at Hotspur Way.
This continuous struggle in front of goal as Levy to decide against option

Timo initially moved to North London in a loan deal from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, and head coach Ange Postecoglou decided against using him in his preferred centre-forward role and rather slotted him on the left flank, with the idea being he could cover up the space using his pace and maintain width to stretch the opponents. While his performances earned him shouts for a probable permanent transfer, that didn’t happen with Daniel Levy finding a way to bring the German international on another loan deal, this time around with an option to buy.
And while the North Londoners have the option to make his move permanent at the end of the ongoing season, these underwhelming performances have raised more questions about his ability, and it looks like Daniel Levy will not be triggering that option when the summer window comes around.
MLS move in line for Werner?

Now, in recent months, Werner has been linked with the potential of moving to Major League Soccer (MLS). Aiding as fuel to those rumours, Emil Forsberg, the 28-year-old’s former teammate at RB Leipzig who is currently playing for the New York Red Bulls, has come to publicly express his desire to reunite with the former Chelsea ace in MLS.
Speaking in a recent interview, the 33-year-old said (via. Bild):
“Of course I would love to take Timo. He’s a great player. We had great years in Leipzig. But unfortunately, I can’t make that decision.”

It is to be seen where Werner goes from here, but MLS will definitely be an intriguing option for the German international as he looks to rediscover his form and become a core contributor to the badge he represents. And for Tottenham, they would be looking to dip into the market for a possible upgrade in the offensive roster with multiple wingers subject to links with a move to White Hart Lane.
