Tottenham star Son Heung-min wanted by Saudi Pro League duo Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal in the summer.

The Lilywhites supporters have been sweating around the future of South Korean skipper Son Heung-min, who has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane despite his recent contract extension, which will tie him up at N17 till 2026. However, his ageing age, complemented by the underwhelming season that he is having at the moment, has raised questions on if he belongs at Tottenham Hotspur, especially in an environment catered towards young players.

And while there have been all discussions of a probable Hotspur Way exit, Spurs’ Premier League rivals Manchester United have expressed keenness in acquiring the 32-year-old left winger in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Ruben Amorim’s side plotting a possible move, per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

There is a dire need for skill and depth in the offensive unit at Old Trafford, and that has become more apparent with recent injuries that the Manchester Reds have had. And with Son, they can not only bring in a Premier League-proven quality but also a versatile profile who fits in on multiple positions and still brings both goals and creativity to the table. And we have seen Son thrive at the highest level, making him a reliable option for the Portuguese head coach to consider.

If Son were to move to Man United, he would likely settle into life in Manchester quickly, however, it will be a challenge for them to convince the former Bayer Leverkusen star to join a direct rival of Tottenham, a club where he is regarded as a modern day icon.

Beyond United, there are also rumours linking the South Korea international with a potential exit from English football altogether, which adds more layers to the complication regarding his future at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beyond this season.

Levy will demand big fee

We will see how this goes when the summer window arrives, given the fact that Manchester United are likely to miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification; Son will not have that sporting backing if he were to move to Old Trafford.

Moreover, Levy will also hold out for significant funds if he lets Son move to a direct rival, further complicating a possible move.
