The highly acclaimed silky winger who made a move to White Hart Lane with sky-high expectations, Bryan Gil, had to move back to La Liga to find his feet and form given his struggles in the English top tier—and the Spaniard has found his confidence yet again with Girona, where he is thriving with his dribbles and like his older self again, one that made Daniel Levy invest a significant amount in securing his signature.
But when you look back, it was a difficult time for the youngster to come into the high pace and power style of English football and then have to play under three different managers. But it’s good to see him thriving again and loving football again.
Girona push for Bryan Gil discount

Gil is currently plying his trade with Girona, who does have an option to make the loan a permanent deal when the summer transfer window comes around. And Girona’s Sporting Director Quique Cárcel is said to be very keen on keeping him, but the Spanish side is looking to ask the Lilywhites for a possible discount on the option price.
Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo insists that Girona currently has a €15m (£12.4m) option that becomes active when the off-season comes around, and the chiefs at Estadi Montilivi believe that the player is ‘within reach’ for a summer transfer. But they don’t want to exercise the option straight away and instead want to come back to Tottenham and ask for a discount in the price.
Will Levy budge?
Given how Gil has been playing this season, the aforementioned amount sounds more like a reasonable fee. If Girona are to come back and ask for discounts, it is highly likely that Levy will not only play hardball but also start to convince other teams to come in for Gil (and maybe for more than that option). This doesn’t sound like a reasonable and fair option, and this looks more like them trying to take advantage of Spurs willingness to sell rather than the quality of the asset they are getting.

It is to be seen how this one goes from here, but despite the reports, it looks highly unlikely that Levy and the chiefs at Tottenham would consider a discounted price for Gil.
