Tottenham Hotspur are contemplating whether to table a bid for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton in the summer
Tottenham Hotspur have been trying to compound on their transfer strategy of bringing in highly regarded prospects across Europe and developing them under the watchful eyes of Ange Postecoglou.
The winter window acquisitions of Antonin Kinsky and Mathys Tel are prime evidence of that, although Daniel Levy and Co. are in no mood of stopping. They have been looking at more such prospects going into the upcoming summer transfer window, with Crystal Palace sensation Adam Wharton emerging as one of Spurs’ major targets.
The North London outfit have reportedly begun internal discussions over signing Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace. However, they are set to face competition from several top-flight clubs including Aston Villa and Newcastle United for the midfield talent’s signature.

Now, according to an exclusive report from GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham are contemplating whether to launch a bid for Wharton ahead of next campaign. Palace had slapped a £60million price tag on the central midfielder’s head during the January transfer window to deter suitors from opening discussions and that price could only soar if he performs well during the second half of the season.
Rated as one of English football’s brightest young talents, Wharton, though, has endured a stop-start 2024/25 campaign with a groin surgery putting him out of action for more than two months. The 21-year-old has recently returned to the team and showed his class in midweek, helping the Eagles beat Aston Villa 4-1 in the Premier League.
As Wharton, who was a part of the England squad that had reached the Euro 2024 final in Germany, is under contract at Selhurst Park until 2029, Palace remain in a strong negotiating position and under no pressure to cash in. Thus, Spurs and other clubs face a tough battle to get the deal over the line.

The aforementioned report adds the tough-tackling midfielder is happy at Palace and will not agitate for a summer move, which will be a potential blow for Tottenham. The South London club are adamant of keeping hold of the one-cap England international, who will be aware of several Premier League giants showing interest in him and that could though eventually turn his head.
It all boils down to how much Spurs want Wharton to be a part of Postecoglou’s squad. The N17 bosses are aggressively set to push for his signature in the summer as part of building their long-term strategy. The ex-Blackburn Rovers man has shown enough glimpses of his talent in the Premier League, making him a much-appreciated player who can fit perfectly in Big Ange’s system.
