Tottenham Hotspur are circling around Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis ahead of the summer transfer window
With the winter window out of the way, Daniel Levy and the chiefs at White Hart Lane have already started laying bricks for the upcoming summer transfer window.
Spurs signed three players during the January transfer window, bolstering Ange Postecoglou’s roster with talents like Antonin Kinsky, Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel. The Hotspur Way chiefs addressed three critical positions, although the squad still lacks depth.
With first-choice centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven still on the sidelines and Ben Davies out of contract at the end of the season, the North Londoners could prioritise reinforcing the defensive unit further when the transfer window reopens.
According to an exclusive report from TBR Football, Tottenham are among several Premier League clubs circling around Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis. The likes of Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Everton, West Ham and Brighton are also vying for his signature.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis is playing his first full season in the Premier League after swapping Manchester City for Southampton last summer. Following a lack of first-team opportunities at Man City due to the presence of seasoned campaigners and winners, he decided to leave the club and join Southampton.
The 23-year-old has got top-flight exposure at the St Mary’s Stadium, playing 24 times thus far. However, he has been a part of the team with the worst defensive record in the division—with an alarming 65 goals conceded in 27 games. The Saints are doomed for relegation, which is likely to lead to plenty of Premier League clubs looking at their most valuable players.
The aforementioned report adds Harwood-Bellis recently signed with the Unique Sports Group agency as he prepares to leave Southampton after just one season. The defender wants to try and get a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup, and his chances will only be bolstered if he stays in the Premier League and plays regularly.
While this has put plenty of Premier League outfits on red alert, Man City have a buy-back clause and also a sell-on fee for Harwood-Bellis which is worth 25 per cent. Nonetheless, that must not deter Spurs from making a move for the Southampton defender.

There have been concerns at the back for Tottenham. Radu Dragusin has damaged his ACL on the right knee, ruling him out for the season and beyond. This means Big Ange could be on the lookout for a centre-back despite bringing in Kevin Danso in the winter market. Harwood-Bellis, in that regard, would be a good fit at White Hart Lane.
The Stockport-born star does have physicality complemented by defensive awareness and impressive aerial ability to outmuscle forwards, thereby, making him an intimidating presence on the pitch. He is technically sound and can pick out passes from deep, whilst possessing the capacity to anticipate and intercept the opposition’s attacks.

While Daniel Levy looks at possibilities of moving for the Southampton man, other Premier League teams have also expressed interest in his signature.
