Como starlet Nico Paz has caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur scouts in Serie A games this season
There has been a dire need to bring in a creative outlet who can not only bring a different dimension to Tottenham Hotspur’s attack but also add competition within the roster. And it looks like Daniel Levy will be willing to make hefty investments to land one of the best creative talents across the continent.
According to an exclusive report from TBR Football, Spurs scouts have been impressed by Como midfielder Nico Paz.
After his summer move from Real Madrid, Nico Paz has been enjoying a fantastic season in Serie A with Como. He has nailed down a regular spot under boss Cesc Fabregas, registering six goals and five assists in 24 Serie A games. The creative midfielder’s contributions have been key for Como, who are currently 13th in the table.

However, after just one season in Serie A, the youngster’s time at Como could be coming to an end with several high-profile clubs across Europe vying for his signature. The aforementioned report adds that Tottenham have been admirers of Paz’s talents since his time with Real Madrid Castilla.
The one-cap Argentina international has shown a great skill set and adaptability given his role at Como, where he has played as an attacking midfielder, false 9 and in central midfielder. His vision and spatial awareness allow the former Real Madrid academy talent to thrive in the hole behind the main striker, enabling him to look for space that others might struggle to spot.
The 20-year-old often uses his flair, imagination and movements to open up spaces for his teammates. Now, if one looks at the Como man’s talents on and off the ball and compare it with the current roster at Ange Postecoglou’s disposal, there is no one other than perhaps James Maddison who can do those same things on the pitch.

This could make Paz a young alternative to Maddison in the No.10 role for Spurs and someone experienced he could learn the tricks of the trade from. At 28, Maddison is operating at the peak of his powers but he has struggled to maintain his fitness. So, when the England international is unavailable, Postecoglou could have a player with a similar skill-set in Paz to bring into his XI if Spurs can sign him this summer.
