Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing highly-rated AS Monaco talent Lamine Camara this summer
Tottenham Hotspur are anticipating a busy summer transfer window and are also keeping an eye on reinforcements for their midfield unit.
Spurs bolstered their defensive and offensive areas of the pitch with the signings of Antonin Kinsky, Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel during the January transfer window. Ange Postecoglou was in desperate need of help owing to an injury crisis in the squad and the board backed him well, despite the North Londoners not performing well on the pitch.
The Lilywhites added to their midfield department last year by bringing in highly-rated talents Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray. However, they are seemingly not satisfied, identifying a youngster from Ligue 1 after implementing a fresh transfer strategy to boost their pool of highly regarded talents ahead of next season.

According to an exclusive report from TBR Football, Tottenham have joined the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea in the race for AS Monaco star Lamine Camara.
Lamine Camara joined AS Monaco from FC Metz in July 2024 and has enjoyed a fantastic debut season at the Principality. Cementing his status as a mainstay in Monaco’s XI, the 21-year-old, considered by many to be Senegal’s best prospect since Sadio Mane, has bagged two goals and supplied six assists in 31 games across all competitions.
The 23-cap Senegal international has alone shone in the Champions League this term, although he could not help his side qualify for the Round of 16. Nonetheless, Camara’s performances have unsurprisingly gone unnoticed across Europe, with plenty of clubs monitoring him.

The aforementioned report adds that scouts across Europe think Camara, who has been likened to French World Cup winner N’Golo Kante, is one of the best African prospects they have seen in a long time. As a result, Monaco are in no rush to sell the Senegalese after just one season and will resist any approaches, although their resolve could be tested depending on the size of bids that are tabled.
Spurs have scouted Camara and there is clear interest in the midfielder who could, perhaps, be an incredible long-term replacement for Yves Bissouma. Heading into the final year of his contract, Bissouma has not been a regular starter under Ange Postecoglou and the club are reportedly planning to cash him in the summer.

As such, Tottenham could be presented with a great opportunity to land Camara. At 21, the Senegalese, who can play anywhere across midfield, would represent an astute acquisition that fits the mould of signings the North Londoners tend to make—young and dynamic players with bags of potential.
