Ex-Spurs scout advises Tottenham to offer Yves Bissouma plus cash in a swap deal for AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara
Tottenham Hotspur have a host of talented midfielders, with 18-year-old duo Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall both serious options for the present and future.
In terms of experienced central midfielders, Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur are both out of contract at the end of June. However, the club are planning to secure Bentancur’s future by tying him to a new deal.
The same thing cannot be said about Yves Bissouma as for now. In fact, the Lilywhites are reportedly planning to cash in the Mali international amid interest from Crystal Palace. As Spurs are planning to add to their midfield unit in the summer, someone will need to be offloaded to make space in Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
Tottenham have reportedly joined the transfer race for highly-rated AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara as they look to enhance their pool of young talents. Considered by many to be Senegal’s best prospect since Sadio Mane, the AS Monaco man has enjoyed a strong 2024/25 season in Ligue 1 with two goals and six assists in 20 appearances thus far.

The 21-year-old’s displays have unsurprisingly gone unnoticed, with Spurs among a host of clubs vying for his signature. And with the North Londoners open to listening to offers for Bissouma in the summer, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King has suggested the Malian could be included in a swap deal to bring Lamine Camara to White Hart Lane.
“There are worse places to go than Monaco for any player,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“Therefore, Spurs offering Bissouma plus cash for Camara could be an option. Moving from North London to Monaco would be of interest to Bissouma, I think. As a result, that could be a feasible bit of business.
“Spurs would be replacing Bissouma with a player for the future, and it could be an important move for Camara, a step up in his career.”

From Tottenham’s perspective, such a move would be great. They would be able to land a blossoming talent like Camara while getting rid of Bissouma, who has been extremely inconsistent at N17 since arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2022. So, there does not seem to be any logic in extending Bissouma’s contract.

Thus, with the 28-year-old’s contract set to have just one year left at the end of June, the summer feels like the ideal time to offload him off the books. And if the Hotspur Way chiefs can agree on a swap deal plus cash with Monaco for Camara, who is an extremely talented player with vast potential, that would be an astute piece of business.
Camara, currently making waves in Ligue 1, could unlock his true potential under Big Ange and make a step up in his career by joining Tottenham.
