Romero, Van de Ven and Solanke are in line to be included in the Tottenham travelling squad against AZ Alkmaar
Tottenham Hotspur were dealt a fresh injury blow on Tuesday when club insider Paul O Keefe revealed that Dejan Kulusevski is nursing a foot problem.
Undoubtedly Spurs’ best player in an otherwise gloomy season, Kulusevski has undergone scans to discover the extent of his injury. He was spotted wearing a protective boot on his left foot in a picture posted on his official Instagram account, and while an official timeline for his return is yet to be provided, it is expected that the Sweden international will miss Thursday’s Europa League fixture against AZ Alkmaar.
To offset Kulusevski’s injury blow, Ange Postecoglou has received a triple injury boost ahead of the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 clash against AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands. As reported by Paul O Keefe on his X account, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke are expected to be included in Tottenham’s travelling squad vs AZ Alkmaar.

To double down on O Keefe’s claims, Tottenham confirmed that Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke all took part in the team training ahead of the midweek’s continental clash. For the first time in many months, the trio were all involved in a full training session.
Earlier this week, it was understood that Van de Ven, Romero and Solanke will be available for selection for the Premier League home game against Bournemouth on the weekend. But it looks like they could all play a part in the European game in the Netherlands.
Romero and Van de Ven have been sidelined since December, although the latter recovered from his hamstring injury in January and played for 45 minutes against IF Elfsborg in the Europa League before not featuring again. Their absences over the months have been hugely felt, with the Lilywhites leaking goals for fun.

Meanwhile, Solanke has not seen action on the pitch since January after hurting his knee on the training field. As a result, the centre-forward with 11 goals and six assists in all competitions this season has missed 12 games to date.
The injury update on the Tottenham troika are extremely positive. Following their respective injury setbacks, the medical department have done a good job to let them heal fully before giving the green signal for the players to join team training.

Solanke, Romero and Van de Ven must be looking to come back into the squad with renewed energy and spirts. Having three key first-teamers back should also lift the morale of the squad and make a huge difference during the most crucial phase of the campaign, as Big Ange and Co. look to beat AZ Alkmaar over two legs and advance to the Europa League last eight.
