Aston Villa could hand Tottenham a surprise boost in the pursuit of sought after PL midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to secure Tyler Dibling’s signature in the upcoming summer transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign young English talent Tyler Dibling from Southampton, according to TalkSport. The North London club are said to be genuinely interested in getting the 19-year-old’s signature with many top clubs, including Aston Villa and Newcastle United, said to be interested in the winger as well.

Tyler Dibling has been one of the star players to burst onto the Premier League scene. The English winger has been one of the only positives for the Saints, in what has been a dismal campaign back in the top flight. In 28 appearances this season, Dibling has managed to score four goals and has further provided two assists.

Tyler Dibling is also said to be unhappy with his contract situation at Southampton. The winger’s current deal expires in 2026 and the Saints will look to avoid selling Dibling on a free when his contract eventually ends. The Saints are most probably going to get relegated and the young English talent is rumoured to be unhappy with the new deal that is being offered to him by his current club.

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of the Southampton academy player as Aston Villa are considering backing down and rather sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford on a permanent deal.

Villa signed Rashford on loan in the January transfer window, with an option to buy the England international on a permanent deal for £40million. The Birmingham-based club are seriously considering triggering that option as the Manchester United loanee has been impressive in his short stint at the club.

How Tottenham Hotspur will benefit from Tyler Dibling’s arrival?

If Tyler Dibling does end up at Tottenham Hotspur, it will be one of the signings of the summer. The North London will have to spend around £50million to sign the young talent, but will secure a future superstar for years to come.

Tottenham Hotspur target Tyler Dibling

The 19-year-old is a perfect replacement for the ageing Heung-Min Son and will provide a new dynamic for Ange Postecoglou’s side. Dibling is also a homegrown player, so signing him will fill Spurs’ homegrown quota for the upcoming season.

Tyler Dibling likes to cut inside and create chances for his teammates. The youngster prefers taking on his man and is an ideal player for a team that plays counter-attacking football. He is explosive during counter-attacks and is known to draw fouls in the final third of the pitch.

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

Ange Postecoglou can certainly help the 19-year-old reach his full potential, as the Spurs manager has a pedigree to develop talent during his time at the North London club. Signing Tyler Dibling will also increase the chances of Ange Postecoglou’s side to win a long-awaited major trophy and start a new era at the club.
