Moise Kean looks set to return to England in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur face an upward battle to land Fiorentina striker Moise Kean in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a major blow in their effort to sign Fiorentina striker Moise Kean in the summer. Spurs now face competition from Newcastle United and the Magpies are believed to be working out a deal to get the 25-year-old to St. James’ Park, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

Moise Kean has bounced back immensely after a failed stint in the Premier League with Everton early on in his career. The Italy international had managed to score just two goals in 32 appearances in the competition before being let go.

However, the Vercelli-born striker has regained his swagger and confidence donning the Fiorentina jersey. The ex-Juventus striker has netted 19 times for Fiorentina in all competitions this season.

Tottenham Hotspur considering to sign Moise Kean to give attacking depth

According to Italian news outlet Tuttosport, Tottenham Hotspur delegates had flown to Italy to see the explosive striker play in a couple of games. It is believed that Spurs are seriously considering bringing the 25-year-old back to England to strengthen the seriously depleted attack.

GIVEMESPORT confirms that Tottenham Hotspur are aware that Kean has a €52million release clause in his contract and are considering activating it, if needed. The aforementioned source also confirms that Spurs forwards Heung-min Son and Richarlison might make a move in the summer to accommodate new arrivals.

Will Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur battle it out?

However, the North London club has been dealt with a massive blow in their pursuit of signing the Italy international. GMS confirms that Newcastle United are also in the running for Kean’s signature. Unlike Tottenham Hotspur, the Magpies have had an impressive campaign and are looking to strengthen the team even more in the summer.

Tottenham Hotspur faces an upward battle to sign Moise Kean

It looks like Alexander Isak will be on his way out in the summer and Eddie Howe will be looking to replace the star striker with someone who has the same potential as the current Magpies No.14. It is being reported by GMS that Moise Kean perfectly fits that criterion.

Tottenham Hotspur will have to battle it out with their Premier League rivals if they want to get the Italy international’s signature. It looks like Moise Kean has a newfound belief and it seems very likely that his confidence has been up.

Both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are looking to end their trophy drought and bringing a player like Kean with huge potential might just turn their fortunes. If the Fiorentina forward does decide to come back to the Premier League, he will have a chance to prove anyone who doubted his first stint wrong.
