Daniel Levy has been striving to bring in a new forward for a while. The club chairman had a particularly difficult time convincing offensive players to move to N17 in the recently concluded winter transfer window, and now going into summer, he is poised for another battle given the Lilywhites interest in Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, per Caughtoffside.
Ange Postecoglou likes his wingers with flair and dynamism, players who can find solutions and bring in that clinical presence out wide. We have seen the North Londoners struggling to be a clinical side along the season, and this is where their need to bring in a new forward comes in…
Now Spurs have put their name in the hat to sign Coman, but the Lilywhites aren’t alone in the pursuit of his signature, and Daniel Levy will have to battle out the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle United for his signature.
Signing someone with the stature of Coman will be one of those highlight transfers that announces the project at Hotspur Way, given that he comes with a decorated history with league titles across multiple top five European leagues.
Who needs Coman more?

Looking at his needs by the clubs, the Merseyside Reds are looking to hand Arne Slot marquee signings in the upcoming summer, given how the Dutch head coach has been making do with a majority of an inherited squad from Jurgen Klopp. Moreover, with the likes of Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah linked with an L4 exit, they would need a new wide forward.
Then comes Arsenal; the Gunners are looking for reasonable depth and competition for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, and bringing in the Frenchman would give that added mentality (and much-needed depth) to lead them to a title.
For Newcastle United, the Toons have been one of the most potent and promising attacking sides in the league this season, with Eddie Howe playing a fast-paced style of football where wingers are a very important part of their system. Adding Coman alongside Gordon would give them a quality attacking setup that can give them adaptability to the high-pressing demands.
Then comes Tottenham; Ange Postecoglou wants to inject the winning mentality into the squad, and adding someone like Coman to take Timo Werner’s place would be a massive jump in quality, and his presence will also help the Lilywhites to transition from Heung-Min Son to a long-term solution on the left flank.
