Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is planning a bigger role for academy graduate Dane Scarlett next season
Tottenham Hotspur are currently in the midst of a rebuilding job and, though it hasn’t been plain sailing, there are signs of progress under head coach Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs have adopted the strategy of investing more in young talent with bags of potential over the last few years. After a hugely disappointing season, they are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window in pursuit of more top talents who can help propel the team back into the Champions League places.
In addition to that, it looks like the North Londoners are planning to groom one of their academy talents next season.

According to an exclusive report from GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham are planning to hand more playing opportunities to Dane Scarlett to make his mark during the 2025//26 campaign instead of offloading him permanently or loaning him out again during the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old was recalled from his loan spell with Championship side Oxford United during the January transfer window. He joined Oxford United in August and scored four goals in 20 Championship appearances. However, lack of regular opportunities, coupled with Tom Bradshaw’s signing from Millwall in January, would have pushed him further down the attacking pecking order under Gary Rowett.
Having been recalled to help Ange Postecoglou and the team to cope during the peak of their injury crisis, Dane Scarlett has since managed to impress over cameos in recent performances. The striker bagged a goal and an assist against Swedish side IF Elfsborg during their 3-0 win in late January, with the youngster also supplying an assist in the 4-1 away win over Ipswich Town last month.

The aforementioned report adds Ange Postecoglou has already started planning for next season despite his uncertain future, and the Australian tactician has already mapped out a more prominent first-team role for the young Scarlett. He has been convinced that the academy talent deserves more game time after doing well in cameo appearances from the bench, leading to the decision being made to keep him at the club rather than sanction an exit.

Spurs have a shortage of homegrown talent, so Big Ange’s decision to keep the England youth international on board next term may be influenced by that factor. At 20, Scarlett is still very young and developing, and regardless of a couple of failed loan moves, Tottenham have not given up hope on the highly-rated academy graduate, which should please him and his representatives.
Let’s hope Scarlett shows his potential next season and develops well under Big Ange’s watchful eyes within the corridors of the Hotspur Way.
