Fabrizio Romano gives an update on Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo’s future amid Spurs links

Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo has become one of the most coveted players in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur were forced to dip into the January transfer window for reinforcements after injuries had left their boss Ange Postecoglou’s squad extremely thin. While key players have returned from injury problems in recent weeks and the squad is looking much healthier than before, there is no doubt that tough decisions will be made at the end of the season.

Forwards like Timo Werner and Richarlison have reportedly been placed on the chopping block, while skipper Son Heung-min has shown real signs of decline this season. It would not be surprising if Spurs cash in on Son with him set to enter the final year of his contract in July.

Thus, Ange Postecoglou has been hunting for firepower in attack in preparation for his third season at N17. The Lilywhites are among several Premier League clubs to have shown an interest in signing Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo. They were linked with the Cherries star in the winter transfer window but a deal didn’t come into fruition.

Antoine Semenyo has been one of Premier League’s best players this season, constantly troubling the defenders with his dynamism, pace, movement and dribbling skills. He has played a key role in Bournemouth challenging for the European places this season, amassing 14-goal contributions in 31 Premier League games to date.

Now, transfer news king Fabrizio Romano has dropped an update on Semenyo’s future amidst interest from several Premier League clubs including Tottenham. He says that although the Cherries are expected to sell some of their stars this summer after a fantastic campaign, the Ghana international is not guaranteed to leave the Vitality Stadium.

“[Milos] Kerkez, [Dean] Huijsen, Semenyo… many Bournemouth players are attracting interest, but I don’t think they will sell 3–4 players. Semenyo has chances to go as interest is there, but it’s not something guaranteed now, as the club will try to fight to keep him,” Fabrizio Romano exclusively told GIVEMESPORT in his transfer newsletter.

Manchester United and Newcastle United have been mentioned by Romano as clubs who harbour interest in Semenyo, who is rated in the region of €60 million. Spurs are also in the mix, and despite Bournemouth setting a €60 million starting price tag on him, they seem to not be discouraged and will revive their interest in the African star.

Big Ange would love to have a player like Antoine Semenyo in his squad next season

Semenyo can operate anywhere across the front-line, which makes him a good fit in Postecoglou’s fluid, enterprising and high-octane system at Spurs. The 25-year-old has developed into one of the English top-flight’s most exciting players in the last couple of seasons, demonstrating enough potential to suggest he deserves to ply his trade for a club with bigger ambitions.

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

Tottenham have been underwhelming this season but they have a project and structure in place to achieve their big dreams in the future. Semenyo could be a part of the club’s bright future which Big Ange has been tasked to shape.

All in all, the North Londoners must not hesitate to splash the cash on the Bournemouth star as he is a player with the ‘X-factor’ who can make a difference to their attack next season.
