Spurs boss Ange values Archie Gray's invaluable talent

Archie Gray has been one of the few positives for Tottenham Hotspur this season

Tottenham Hotspur have had a season to forget this year under Ange Postecoglou. The North London club are in the bottom half of the Premier League and have already exited from all the domestic competitions.

However, not all is bad for Spurs fans. One of the few positives this season has been the signing and impact of Archie Gray. The 19-year-old has been a mainstay ever since he was integrated into the team by Ange Postecoglou. The Spurs manager has been challenged with many injuries this season to key players. But this has allowed Ange to utilize the youngsters even more.

Archie Gray has been relied upon heavily by Ange Postecoglou

Archie Gray was signed from Leeds United last summer and has made quite an impact at N17. The midfielder has been forced to play as a centre-back because of Tottenham’s defensive problems and injuries to Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin. But Gray has made that position his own.

As per Sofascore, Gray has played 36 games in all competitions for Spurs and has registered 10 key passes and also created three big chances for his team. This is quite impressive for an inexperienced centre-back. The ex-Leeds player has also kept seven clean sheets and has an average rating of 6.72 this season.

Gray will be a Spurs superstar’, says Lennon

Aaron Lennon was once considered a fan favourite during his time at Tottenham Hotspur. The winger went on to play for Spurs for a decade and had quite an impact at the club. Lennon was recently asked about Spurs star Archie Gray and the retired England international was full of praise for the youngster.

As per Football.london, Lennon said,

“It’s shocked me how good he’s been this season again and what he’s gone on to. He’s taken it to another level, and especially in the positions he’s had to play. When I went back to Leeds in the back end of the last season, he was just with the first team, but around the place he was always a great lad. The staff who had had him before spoke so highly of him just as an individual.”

Lennon then went on to add,

“I think his time will come. I think if you ask him, he’ll say where he wants to play, he’ll tell you in the middle of the park, and once the injured players come back and it might be next season now, who knows,, but I think it will be amazing to see Archie get in the centre of the pitch.”
