Tottenham Hotspur urged to replace Ange Postecoglou with Harry Redknapp

Tottenham’s season has fallen far short of expectations, with the club already out of all domestic competitions and struggling in 13th place. A top-six finish now seems unlikely, leaving their second leg against AZ Alkmaar as their final chance at salvaging the campaign. With tensions mounting between the fans, the board, and Ange Postecoglou due to poor results, his future could hinge on that crucial match.

TalkSPORT pundit Majestic believes Tottenham should dismiss Postecoglou and bring back Harry Redknapp if they want to secure Europa League success this season.

Tottenham have been struggling many times in the Premier League this season and it was not the different case against Bournemouth, managing only a 2-2 home draw. Second-half goals from Pape Matar Sarr and Son Heung-min rescued a point for Spurs.

With just 10 league games left, Tottenham sit 13 points behind fifth place, where they finished last season. Although the club has ruled out an immediate dismissal of Postecoglou, speculation is growing that they could seek a new manager this summer.

Spurs urged to re-hire Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp, who led Tottenham from 2008 to 2012, has been out of management since 2017 when Birmingham City dismissed him after 13 games. Although he announced his retirement that year, the 78-year-old showed interest in a return to coaching in 2023 when reports linked him to the Leeds United job.

Majestic expressed doubts about Postecoglou’s ability to lead Spurs to Europa League success, emphasising the lack of unity and motivation within the squad. He argued that without winning the competition, Tottenham would miss out on European football next season. Believing a change in leadership is necessary, he urged the club to sack Postecoglou immediately and bring back Harry Redknapp for one final stint.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Majestic urged Spurs to appoint Redknapp immediately to salvage their Europa League campaign.

“What I’m saying is, for Spurs to move forward, because next year there’s no European football for us, unless we win the Europa League.

“But with that manager, they can’t win that, in my opinion, because where is the rousing of the team, and we’re together, we’re a unit.

“There’s nothing from him. I personally tomorrow morning, get rid of him. Bring back Harry Redknapp, for one last hurrah. I’ll bring Harry back.”
