The Lilywhites have been trying to bring in a new forward in the ongoing campaign given how Ange Postecoglou has been looking for a player with flair and skills who can bring on-game solutions and is capable of playing in the free-flowing nature of the Australian head coach’s system at N17, and one of the players who Tottenham Hotspur are vying to bring in when the summer transfer window comes around is winger Ademola Lookman, who has captivated football fanatics from around the globe with his performances for Atalanta.
Lookman has been playing some exceptional football in Serie A for a while, and his development has attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs, including the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, alongside Tottenham. And the latest report surrounding the future of wide- forward would come as a massive boost to the aforementioned trio.
What you don’t know about Lookman is exactly what gives Tottenham an advantage

What many wouldn’t know about the 27-year-old is that he plays for Nigeria but was born in South London and came through the academy at Charlton Athletic. And per TEAMtalk, he has expressed a desire to move back to London, which could go on to influence his next destination. And given that Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham, his three Premier League suitors, are based in the capital city, it would come as a boost for the English top-tier heavyweights to pursue his signatures.
The Nigeria international has contributed to 25 goals in the ongoing campaign, and wherever he goes, he will certainly bring a lot of goals and assists.
Lookman and the PL trio…

Let’s start with our noisy neighbours, Arsenal. Rivalry aside, they have a roster capable of winning big titles, and Mikel Arteta desperately needs a versatile offensive player who can operate effectively across the front three (not to compare, but very much like Alexis Sanchez for them, someone who can take the game by its collars when nothing is happening), and we have seen that Lookman is quite able to add both goals and creativity with his dynamic playing style and knack for finding the back of the net time and time again, which could complement Arsenal’s attacking setup, making him a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s system. He will not only bring depth but also a sense of competition to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, and Gabriel Martinelli (something that Mikel Arteta desperately needs).
Moving on to Chelsea, now the thing with West Londoners is that they have been highly reliant on the likes of Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson to bring in goals and that creativity in the final third. Moreover, with all the suspensions that Mykhailo Mudryk has been facing, they will look to replace his presence in the squad, but rather with someone who has more experience and quality. And this is where Lookman would represent a quality addition.
Then comes Tottenham, looking into the current season at N17; Ange Postecoglou’s side has greatly suffered with finding solutions and clinical finishing up front, and in Lookman they can solve both problems. And then his versatility means he can be slotted across the front three, which makes him an asset to possess in the roster. It’s his pace, flair, and goal-scoring ability that we’ve not seen regularly at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season, and it will add dynamism and unpredictability to the current attacking setup that has struggled to break down defences.
Arsenal have a clear advantage, don’t they?
At the moment, Lookman would be looking to rather go to a place that assures him trophies, and that directly means that Arsenal has an advantage to go ahead and secure his signature, while for Tottenham, Ange needs players in multiple positions, and the project at Hotspur Way is still very young.
