Tottenham loanee Bryan Gil is looking to complete a permanent transfer to Spain
Tottenham Hotspur had an impressive transfer window last summer under Ange Postecoglou. Although their league position does not picture anything positive this season, Spurs’ most impressive players since August have been the new signings. The likes of Wilson Odobert, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall have all been in really good touch ever since joining the first team.
The North London club freed up space in their midfield by sending outcast Bryan Gil on loan to Girona before the start of the season. The Spaniard was clearly out of Ange Postecoglou’s project and it looked like Spurs were trying to move him on without any reconsideration. This allowed Tottenham to sign some young talents instead for squad depth and potentially replace Gil.

The Lilywhites have certainly missed a creative player in their ranks this season. The only attacking midfielder in the squad, James Maddison has been in and out of the team due to injuries and Ange would have preferred a backup option to replace the England international. However, this has still not led to the club or the fans thinking about calling back Bryan Gil from Spain after his loan ends.
Bryan Gil to stay at Girona?
Bryan Gil has been anything but effective during his time at Tottenham. Ever since joining the club in July 2021, the Spaniard has failed to make an impact and has just not lived up to expectations. The 24-year-old has been sent out on loan numerous times as well, the latest being Girona. The ex-Sevilla player has been quite impressive at Girona this season, but his progress is cut short due to an injury he suffered recently.
According to AS, Girona are still wanting to keep Bryan Gil at the club beyond this season despite his injury setback. The Spanish club have been quite impressed with his development and believe he can turn out to be a valuable player for them. However, the report also mentions that Girona will not be planning to trigger the £12.5cmillion clause in the 24-year-old’s contract and would be willing to negotiate a cut-price deal instead.
AS also reports that the Spaniard is open to staying in Spain after being assured that Girona have been impressed with his development and he can further enhance his game in La Liga. Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to reach a conclusion for the ex-Sevilla player as well and it is looking likely that an exit for N17 is more than likely to happen.

As per Sofascore, Gil has four goals and three assists in 32 games in all competitions this season But that does not reflect his impact in the team. The attacker has been impressive and has made a difference in tight games as well. The Lilywhites will be hoping to put an end to this chapter as soon as possible and move him on to find suitable replacements in the summer.
