Tottenham set to meet with Richarlison in the coming weeks to resolve his future

After an underwhelming season, a lot of Tottenham Hotspur players face an uncertain future as radical changes could happen in the summer.

Ange Postecoglou’s future remains the major talking point. Daniel Levy must decide quickly whether the Australian should stay and continue for another season or leave. Apart from the boss, there are some players whose futures needs resolving.

One of them is Richarlison, who arrived at Spurs in a £50million deal from Everton in 2022. The Brazilian came to North London amid a lot of fanfare. However, he has struggled for form and fitness throughout his White Hart Lane career thus far, netting only 18 goals in 80 appearances across all competitions.

Richarlison’s injury record is extremely concerning. Since joining Tottenham, he has missed 58 games due to multiple injury problems. The forward has missed 37 games alone this season, thanks to a combination of hamstring, groin and calf injuries. This has limited the 27-year-old to only nine Premier League appearances, in which he has netted two goals and supplied an assist.

The South American star is entering the final two years of his contract (Transfermarkt), but he might be cashed in at the end of the season due to concerns over his injury record and chronic lack of consistency.

According to South American journalist Eduardo Burgos, Tottenham are set to meet Richarlison in the coming weeks to discuss his future, with a potential exit on the cards. He further reveals that a return to the Spurs forward is not ruled out, although a deal would be difficult to do.

“Richarlison – Tottenham meeting in the coming weeks to define his future,” Eduardo Burgos claimed on his X account.

“Several Brazilian teams have inquired about his availability. The priority is to remain in Europe. His return to the Brasileirão is very unlikely, but it’s not entirely ruled out either.”

Recent reports claimed Brazilian trio Palmeiras, Fluminense and Flamengo are closely monitoring Richarlison’s situation at Spurs. However, as revealed by Burgos, the player would prefer to stay in Europe. The Brazilian would certainly want to listen to offers and decide on the best project for his career, which has stuttered in recent years.

Everton would reportedly be interested in re-signing Richarlison, who had an excellent spell at Goodison Park. While Everton are not competing for trophies and would be rebuilding the squad under David Moyes next season, the 27-year-old may seek an emotional return in the summer to get his career back on track.
