Injury expert has dropped the latest update on Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin’s ACL injury
At a time when Ange Postecoglou remains under fierce pressure at Tottenham Hotspur, he watched his team earn a 3-1 victory over Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. It lifted them to 14th in the table, but one cannot deny that this Spurs side have massively underperformed this season.
One of the major mitigating factors behind their inconsistent performances and results have been the injury crisis. Persistent injury problems have simply not allowed Ange Postecoglou and Co. to get any sort of momentum and continuity.
Dejan Kulusevski is the latest key Spurs player to have struggled with injury. The Sweden international, who has been the Lilywhites’ best player this season, has been ruled out of the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday evening. While he is pushing to make himself available for the second leg next week, one player who will not participate again this season is Radu Dragusin.

Radu Dragusin is facing a significant period out of action. Indeed, he suffered an ACL injury in a Europa League game against IF Elfsborg at home in early February, which is expected to rule him out for at least six months. Some ACL injuries can keep players out of action for up to a year.
Discussing the state of play with the Romanian international, injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar claims that the defender is still in the early stages of his recovery and will be working on improving his strength and conditioning, among other things.
“He’s very much still in the relative early stages of his ACL rehab process, about eight weeks post surgery,” Dr Rajpal Brar exclusively told Tottenham News.
“He will be working on improving his strength, range of motion, some balance work along with getting his walking gait back to normal.
“Best case for return to individual training is latter parts of the summer prior to next season so I’d say three more months.”

Spurs staff, coaches and medical department have to be extremely patient with Dragusin as he recovers from a ruptured ACL. His return from a serious knee injury will be a long-term process, demanding great care and support.
An ACL tear isn’t just a physical setback, but mentally shakes a player as well. So, proper time needs to be given first to heal after surgery before he is given the green signal from the medical department to start his rehab process.
