Tottenham have been alerted by the chaotic situation of Yunus Musah at AC Milan
Tottenham Hotspur have started working behind the scenes to bolster the squad after a horrendous 2024/25 campaign.
While Spurs are not short of options in central midfield, they might offload a couple of senior men this summer to make space for fresh faces in the squad. Both Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur are set to enter the final year of their contracts in June, with the former heavily linked with an exit.
Bissouma has not performed as per the high expectations of the club bosses and fans since arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2022. Now, the Lilywhites are considering cashing in on the Mali international. James Maddison’s long-term future at N17 also remains in doubt owing to his inconsistent performances.

Now, according to a report from Italian outlet Milan Live, Tottenham have been alerted by the situation of Yunus Musah at AC Milan. Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United are also interested in the player.
This comes after the USMNT midfielder endured a forgettable evening in AC Milan’s 2-2 draw with Fiorentina last weekend. Yunus Musah made a costly error that led to Fiorentina taking the lead early in the game. His poor first touch in the final third allowed Fiorentina to take the lead, when Malick Thiaw accidentally bundled the Albert Gudmundsson cross into his own net in the seventh minute.
What followed was no less than a nightmare as the midfielder was substituted in the 24th minute, with manager Sergio Conceicao deciding to end his misery quickly. Well, this was not the first time Musah has been substituted early in the first half by Conceicao; the 22-year-old was hauled off in the 37th minute in the 2-1 defeat to Lazio in March. And in both occasions, he has been booed loudly by the Milan fans, who are fed up with the American’s underwhelming displays.

The aforementioned report adds that Musah’s exit from Milan now looks more likely. The likes of Tottenham, Newcastle and Forest are keeping tabs on his situation and could make an offer.
Things have just not gone according to plan for Musah at Milan following his move from Valencia in 2023, but one cannot deny the fact that he is a fine talent whose qualities on and off the ball can make a difference at Spurs. Capable of operating both as a No.6 and No.8, the New York-born talent could be viewed as Bissouma’s potential long-term replacement at White Hart Lane.

With Milan now open to cashing him in as opposed to 2025 January transfer intervals when they rejected Napoli’s offer, the Lilywhites must strike in the summer and look to get the former Arsenal academy talent’s services.
