Robbie Fowler wants Liverpool to repalce Virgil van Dijk with Tottenham Hotspur star Micky van de Ven
Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven has certainly made a strong impression since arriving at the club. The 23-year-old played a key role in Ange Postecoglou’s first season at the helm, helping the Lilywhites secure a fifth-place finish in the Premier League.
However, the current season has been far less kind to Van de Ven. The centre-back has struggled with a string of injuries that have kept him sidelined for significant periods, missing a total of 46 games since joining the club. Despite these setbacks, the defender has now returned to the first-team setup at a crucial stage of the campaign, a timely boost that will undoubtedly be welcomed by both Postecoglou and the Spurs faithful.

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has urged the Merseyside to look at Micky van de Ven. Speaking to BoyleSports (as transcribed by Mirror), Fowler said,
“If you’re not doing that and improving the squad you can plateau. When it comes to Micky van de Ven, he’s a very, very good player despite having his injury problems.”
The Englishman added,
“I think he is strong, fast and I think he would look right in a Liverpool shirt. I know Tottenham fans won’t want to hear that but it’s a compliment to him as a player that I think the league leaders should have a look at him.”

With Micky van de Ven under contract at Tottenham until 2029, there appears to be little chance of the Spurs No.37 leaving the club anytime soon. The former Wolfsburg defender is likely focused on helping the North London side challenge for silverware during his tenure. That said, if the 23-year-old were to make a surprise move to Anfield in the future, it’s safe to say that few Liverpool fans would object. Given his talent and potential, Van de Ven would undoubtedly be a welcome addition to the Reds’ defensive ranks.
