Heung-Min Son might exit Tottenham in the summer transfer window
Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-Min Son has been a stalwart at the club. The South Korea international has been through the highs and lows at N17 and has become a fan favourite. His legendary partnership with Harry Kane was one to savour, and at one point, they were arguably considered the best duo in world football. But the Spurs’ No.7 has found it tough to find form ever since Kane’s departure.
The Lilywhites in genera,l are struggling this season. Ange’s men have already written off the Premier League campaign with eight games to spare. The only focus right now seems to be the Europa League, in which Spurs are in the quarter-finals and have a chance of reaching the semi-finals and getting one step closer to a long-awaited silverware.

Heung-Min Son will be hoping to help his team go all the way in the competition in a bid to win his first major trophy with the club. The ex-Bayer Leverkusen winger has been at N17 for nearly ten years and has never won any silverware. With the club still in contention to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League, Son will hope to make an impact in any capacity to end the trophy drought.
Heung-Min Son’s future still uncertain at Tottenham?
Heung-Min Son has been a part of the Tottenham setup for nearly a decade. The winger has scored 173 goals and provided 96 assists in 451 appearances for the Lilywhites during that time as well. But it has been a tough season for the 32-year-old despite having 23 goal contributions to his name. Son has been inconsistent for most parts of the season and has found it tough to get back in form.
The ex-Leverkusen star will enter the final year of his contract in the summer after recently signing a one-year extension. With many fans casting doubts about Son’s impact and form, Daniel Levy will have a decision to make regarding the legendary winger’s future at N17.
When asked about any news regarding Son’s future at the club, Ange Postecoglou said in his presser (as transcribed by Football.london),
“Don’t think so. We triggered the extension. Apart from that, no. I think all those things we will address at the appropriate time. I don’t think now is the time to look at that.”
The Tottenham manager added,
“Certainly at the end of the year there will be a point of review where we look at where we are as a squad and do some forward-planning – if I’m here, mate. And look at what next year looks like and beyond. I’m sure Sonny will be part of those discussions.”
Ange Postecoglou did not give away any news regarding the future of the Spurs No.7. The Australian manager indicated that the club is in a crucial phase of the season, with a potential trophy on the line, and when the timing would be right, the club’s hierarchy would address the problems. With an important second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals coming up against Eintracht Frankfurt, the Lilywhites have no time to focus on other things.

So, will Tottenham cash in on Heung-Min Son in the summer? It remains to be seen. The club have an opportunity to sell the legendary winger for a fee this summer. But if they do to keep hold of the 32-year-old, then Spurs will run the risk of running his contract down and lose him on a free in 2026.
