Tottenham Hotspur are ready to battle Chelsea and Manchester City to sign AC Milan fullback Theo Hernandez during the summer. The 27-year-old has played a pivotal role for the Italian club despite their struggle in the Serie A this season.
Meanwhile, the Lilywhites have suffered a disastrous season under their manager Ange Postecoglou, currently 14th in the Premier League table. While the Europa League remains a route to salvation for Spurs, even that potential success cannot shadow next summer’s importance.
The Lilywhites need to make the right recruitments during the summer to bolster the vulnerable areas in their senior squad. An injury crisis this season also played a mitigating factor for Postecoglou’s team but the defence remains their biggest concern.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham are ready to battle Chelsea and Man City to sign Hernandez from Milan during the summer. The 27-year-old fullback’s current contract with Milan expires in the summer of 2026 and his current market valuation is €40m.
The Frenchman has made 43 appearances in all competitions for Milan this season, contributing with six goals and seven assists. Hernandez has displayed consistency in availability and performance, something that Spurs desperately need in defence after their struggles this season.
Hernandez is also more balanced in both defensive and offensive aspects of the game compared to what Tottenham currently have. According to Fotmob, Hernandez has created 43 chances in the Serie A at the 96th percentile compared to other fullbacks.
Furthermore, he boasts 25 successful crosses at an 85.3rd percentile and 88% passing accuracy in the Serie A. Defensively, the 27-year-old has a 76.7% tackle-won rate and 59.4% duel won rate, along with a 69% aerial-duel won rate.
